Allen Stanley
Allen found New Thought in 1986, when he joined First Church Unity in Nashville, and that discovery set the course for the rest of his spiritual life. When he moved to Greensboro, North Carolina in 1993, he found a new spiritual home at Unity of Greensboro, where he served as Youth Director and later as Secretary Treasurer on the Board of Trustees. In 1999, he helped build something new at Greensboro Unity Center of Practical Spirituality, where he served as President of the Board.
Returning to Nashville in 2006, Allen joined Unity of Music City and once again found himself on the Board of Trustees, serving as Secretary Treasurer. When he eventually made his way to St. George, he found Centers for Spiritual Living, and he has been active in Center life ever since. Today he is honored to serve on the Core Council.
Music has been Allen's ministry throughout this entire journey, and it remains so today. He has sung with many choirs and shared New Thought spiritual music with congregations across the country. Along the way he has taken classes, joined book studies, and participated in courses through both Unity and CSL, always staying curious and continuing to read and study New Thought ideas.
Allen is often asked what his religion is, and he answers the way the Dalai Lama does: his religion is kindness.
Namaste, my friend.
